This delectable island is located off the northwest tip of the island of New Guinea, in Indonesia's West Papua province. Raja Ampat is an archipelago comprising over 1,500 small islands, cays, and shoals surrounding the four main islands of Misool, Salawati, Batanta, and Waigeo, and the smaller island of Kofiau. Raja Ampat archipelago is the one part of Coral Triangle which contains the richest marine biodiversity on earth.

The original people of West Papua works usually as fishermen and traditional farmers. The traditional staple foods in Papua are rice, sago, taro roots and kau kau which are generally prepared with seafood, chicken, Pork and a large variety of greens. For example, Mumu is a traditional dish, named after the oven where they cook their dishes; combining pork, sweet potatoes, rice and greens. It is cooked in the ground over hot rocks.
