What is Gulai? Gulai is a type of food containing rich, spicy and luscious curry commonly found in Indonesia and Malaysia. Indonesian curries have regional variations that depend on the types of meat and fish available incorporate. This dish puts an exotic Asian taste on the ordinary chicken flavor and best served with warm white rice.

Gulai Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 liter of coconut milk
- 5 stem of fragrant grass, take only the white part, then bruise it
- 3 saffron leaf
- 8 small aromatic lemon leaf
- 2 inch ginger root, bruise it
- 1 1/2 chicken, divide it into 6 pieces, peel it skin
- 1 tbsp of vinegar
Spices:
- 175 gram red chili
- 20 pieces of shallots
- 10 cloves of garlic
- 3 inch of ginger
- 3 inch of saffron
- 50 gram nutmeg
- 3 tea spoon of salt
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
Gulai Preparation:
- Mix all spices and blend it well
- Pour coconut milk, blended spices, fragrant grass, saffron leaf, small aromatic lemon leaf, and ginger root into a pan.
- Cook it in a medium heat. Boil and stir it until it’s all half done.
- Put the chicken into the pan, cook it with the sauce until the chicken's meat soft and done.
- Then drain the chicken and put it away.
- Continue to cook the sauce until it thick. Then pour the vinegar into the sauce, stir it.
- Put the chicken back into the sauce. Stir it.
- It is Ready to serve
